Hyperbole

As discussing in my first post on Laurie Penny I’m often amused by the dystopian vision of the UK much of the left seem to think we’re currently living in. So thanks to dizzy for this piece of hyperbole:
[The Coalition] is the most destructive administration since Pol Pot. It isn’t killing professionals and the middle classes, but it is so damaging their lives and the chances of their children that it’s the British equivalent to wholesale slaughter.

Seriously. It’s actually really offensive to the memory of those slaughtered by Pol Pot in my view. £9k a year tuition fees are bad. They are not genocide.
